Run for Love Online: 2021 Studio Classroom/ 1919 Charity Run

Studio Classroom, the Chinese Christian Relief Association, and Traveler have held the Studio Classroom/1919 Charity Run for the past 8 years to raise funds for afterschool programs for kids from low-income families around the island. This year, due to the pandemic, the run was held online from 9/21- 9/30. Each day at 8 pm, Studio Classroom teachers and trainers joined via videos online to warm-up with the runners running at home. This year’s run will support 2,500 kids from low-income families.

Studio Classroom Executive Director Daniel Hsieh encouraged the kids from low-income families to not fix their focus on their present circumstances, and have grateful hearts. He stated, “Someday you will have the ability to help others and make this world a better place.”

Studio Classroom teacher David Morton, a face for this year’s campaign, shared with the kids: “You are not alone. There are thousands of people each year who are running to support you. You are in our prayers.” Morton also thanked participants: “Thank you for running to support the kids. Let’s continue to run for love. Together, we will make a difference!”
