ORTV Founder Dr. Doris Brougham was invited
to give a speech at the opening ceremony
of the three-day Taipei English Carnival
on December 20. This event is organized
by Taiwan's Research, Development and Evaluation
Committee. Awards were given to agencies
that have helped create an English-friendly
environment in Taiwan. Government officials
and a few guests used wooden hammers to
break the numbers 2005 in ice to symbolize
that 2006 would be a breakthrough for creating
an English-friendly environment in Taipei.
The opening ceremony began with a Ami tribal
dance and ended with an Bunan tribal dance.
