On July 20, Heavenly Melody and Dr. Doris Brougham held a special childrenˇ¦s meeting at the Cathay Childrenˇ¦s Leadership Camp at the Bread of Life Church in Taipei. 1,200 children and teenagers from ages ten to eighteen attended the camp.

Heavenly Melody sang and performed skits. Dr. Brougham encouraged the children commit their lives to God. She told the children about her decision to commit her life to Christ when she was 12 at a special meeting similar to the camp the children were attending. Forgoing the opportunity for further education at a prestigious music school, she left her beloved family and headed for Asia at the age of 21 to devote her life to the Chinese. In Taiwan, which she calls her second home, Dr. Brougham founded Overseas Radio and Television Inc. and began Heavenly Melody and Studio Classroom. Though there were difficulties, she trusted God, whom she said never failed her.

At the end of the service, Dr. Brougham gave an altar call for children to commit their lives to God for the mission field. Many children stepped forward with tears in their eyes. Their simple devotion and heartfelt commitment touched every one of the Heavenly Melody members.
