Let
it Snow! |
| |
On March 5,
Taiwan experienced something truly rare and
wonderful¡Xsnow! In some areas, it snowed for
nine hours straight, and 1.6m accumulated
on Taiwan's Jade Mountain. Although some roads
were closed because of icy conditions, most
people did not seem to mind the inconvenience.
Children delighted in the unexpected treat,
throwing their first snowballs and building
their first snowmen. Much to the disappointment
of some of our staff, no snow fell in Taipei,
where most of us live. But our graphic designer
Jason Lee and photographer Jeff Chao were
in Ilan at the time, where the mountainsides
glistened beautifully. They took pictures,
capturing some of the magic for the rest of
us.
