ORTV's Heavenly Melody Trio —
comprised of singers Eva Chiu, Wesley Hsu
and Tammy Lin —
just returned from a three week evangelistic
tour in the mountains of Eastern Malaysia
and in Singapore. The tour included stops
in several mountain villages where the choir
ministered to Malaysian tribespeople, as
well as to Chinese and Indonesian imigrant
workers. ORTV audio engineer Charles Huang
joined the trio for the concert tour.
Audiences for the various concerts were
of course smaller than normal Heavenly Melody
gatherings, but no less effective. Even
with the multiple languages that they were
dealing with (via translation), the singers
were able to effectively witness to nearly
two thousand people, with many of those
people hearing about Jesus for the first
time.
The tour to East Malaysia was perhaps the
most physically demanding of any Heavenly
Melody concert series. The team travelled
from village to village in narrow riverboats,
lugged heavy sound equipment to various
churches, and performed concerts in muggy,
bug-infested churches. Still, audiences
were clearly touched by the outreach concerts.
Pray that God's message of love will continue
to resonate with the people of East Malaysia.
Lillian Wang, currently working with ORTV's
Malaysia office and the organizer of this
tour, shares, "When I think about how
many years we have worked together, my heart
was touched with tears; the Lord has bound
us together because of His love and calling.
From the very first stop in Sabah at the
press conference, I knew something good
was going to happen and we proclaimed that
by faith. The Lord has encouraged me through
the Bible, and I hold on to His words. God
kept us joyful and energized because He
has showed us His promise."
