Teachers Visit Mainland China to Encourage Teachers and Students

Five Studio Classroom staff members traveled to Mainland China February 15-28 to meet with English teachers and students. The team of Steve Marth, Hazel Johansen, Linda Yeh, Angus Hsiao, and Wilma Tan left Taipei and flew to Shanghai for two weeks of workshops, rallies, activities, and seminars. During their stay, they traveled around the Shanghai area to four different cities. Their schedule was intense; in the first six days, they had 17 different meetings! A typical day started with a school rally in the morning and then at least one teacher training session in the afternoon. Their workshops focused on motivating the English teachers by teaching English creatively in the classroom. Several employees from Studio Classroom's Shanghai office met up with the team during the day to help with marketing issues.

Steve Marth, who has been to China 3 times with Studio Classroom, said that he always enjoys meeting the teachers and students. ¡§I think of my role as one of an encourager,¡¨ he said.
